Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Samuel Schofield started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Bloomsbury's goal looked a bit too open when Danny Smith came free, but Billy Brady reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Billy Brady took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Sollit, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fred Sollit hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Luke Robinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beinn Cotton having to interfere. In the 14th minute Fred Sollit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Billy Brady saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Samuel Schofield managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bloomsbury's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuel Schofield was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Beinn Cotton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Danny Smith came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Shrewsbury fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danny Smith couldn't finish the play. If Samuel Schofield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 35 played minutes, Shrewsbury's Reggie Cryan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Billy Brady came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Shrewsbury reached it. In the 37th minute, Samuel Schofield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fred Sollit received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Billy Brady tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fred Sollit in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Billy Brady prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Gareth Osborn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Beinn Cotton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Shrewsbury's Richie Oliver got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Luke Robinson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luke Robinson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Beinn Cotton made a huge save. Samuel Schofield got in the 68th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Beinn Cotton handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Beinn Cotton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luke Robinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Billy Brady showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danny Smith in the 73rd minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, Bloomsbury's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Sollit came free, but Billy Brady reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
