The audience thought a goal was coming when Tristan Gower got free with Alastair Hartley in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Al Frost didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ian Monk went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Duncan Farrow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Alastair Hartley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dave Hogg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute Dave Hogg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Al Frost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Padstow AFC's Dave Hogg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Al Frost narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Ferryton's Ivor Tindale in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alastair Hartley, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Duncan Farrow fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alastair Hartley having to interfere. In the 42nd play minute Duncan Farrow came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Alastair Hartley. 1-1. A collision led to Ferryton getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Duncan Farrow hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After having played for 60 minutes, Ian Monk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Padstow AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ian Monk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Padstow AFC's zone, Duncan Farrow stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alastair Hartley came out of the goal and Duncan Farrow tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 67th match minute, Ferryton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jasper Rowling to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute, David Grantham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 70 minutes, Ian Monk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Padstow AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ian Monk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jasper Rowling charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jasper Rowling the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Ian Monk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferryton's Al Frost played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Hogg in the 95th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Padstow AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
