Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Sacha Branson made the kick off which started today's match. Ken Hendley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sacha Branson in the 9th minute of the match. When Sacha Branson came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Barnstaple fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sacha Branson couldn't finish the play. Gez McDonald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ty Norfolk in the 19th minute of play forced Barnstaple's goalkeeper Dom Pye-Finch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Barnstaple booed when Ross on Wye was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danny Bedford didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ken Hendley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sacha Branson in the 23rd minute of play. Sacha Branson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Barnstaple's Dom Pye-Finch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Bailey in the 34th minute of play. After some careless play in the Barnstaple defense, Ty Norfolk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dom Pye-Finch. The Barnstaple fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dom Pye-Finch should have stopped the shot. When Junior Stubbs fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barnstaple's protests and gave Junior Stubbs a yellow card for diving instead. Ty Norfolk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dom Pye-Finch having to interfere.
Ross on Wye's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Shane Connery in the 53rd minute. The corner led Ross on Wye's Brendon Tubbs to fire away a dangerous shot which Dom Pye-Finch despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ty Norfolk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Dom Pye-Finch made a huge save. With a little luck, Barnstaple's Dom Pye-Finch got control of the ball when Ty Norfolk tried to sneak it across the goal line. Denis Bailey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Denis Bailey in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dom Pye-Finch prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Tyler Bond fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barnstaple's protests and gave Tyler Bond a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th minute, Tyler Bond hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dom Pye-Finch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Bailey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Charles Downes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ken Hendley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sacha Branson in the 82nd minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Ross on Wye's goal looked a bit too open when Charles Downes came free, but Ken Hendley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sacha Branson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Ken Hendley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Charles Downes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barnstaple's supporters rose to their feet, but Charles Downes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ken Hendley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 93 minutes into the match, Ross on Wye's goal looked a bit too open when Sacha Branson came free, but Ken Hendley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Ross on Wye supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ross on Wye would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
