Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Conan Arrowsmith started the match with the kick off. Austin Brady sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 9 minutes into the game, one of Grove FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Pierre Hunter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Chiswick United's Gary Basterfield in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grove FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 17th minute Pierre Hunter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kev Horsey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gary Basterfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kev Horsey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierre Hunter in the 23rd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, Chiswick United's goalkeeper Dale Prendergast had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Austin Brady. Pierre Hunter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Kev Horsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pierre Hunter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 37 minutes into the game, Gary Basterfield was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chiswick United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grove FC the free kick. 39 minutes into the match, Grove FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gary Basterfield came free, but Kev Horsey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gary Basterfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Conan Arrowsmith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Dale Prendergast tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kev Horsey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierre Hunter, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pierre Hunter was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Pierre Hunter reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kev Horsey. The goal made the score 0-2. Pierre Hunter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gary Basterfield who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Kev Horsey when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 68 minutes, Pierre Hunter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chiswick United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pierre Hunter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Austin Brady fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Prendergast having to interfere. In the 75th minute, Conan Arrowsmith left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grove FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Gary Basterfield who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Kev Horsey when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Pierre Hunter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kev Horsey having to interfere. Gary Basterfield recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87th minute, Jamal Pickford sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Grove FC's Kev Horsey didn't even have to move. After a defensive mix-up in Grove FC's zone, Pierre Hunter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kev Horsey came out of the goal and Pierre Hunter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Chiswick United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
