Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Warren Allott made the kick off which started today's match. 8 minutes into the game, Doug Dunn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thirsk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barhill City the free kick. In the 9th minute of the match Syd Hampton sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Den Watson skillfully saved the ball. Thirsk's Spike Clough got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Thirsk's Kevin Pell got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 14th minute, Will Floyd made a precise shot to the right of Den Watson. Thirsk's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Den Watson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francis Coates, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Den Watson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francis Coates, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Den Watson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lance Fordham in the 24th minute of play. Thirsk's Warren Allott got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Spike Clough received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alexander Monkhouse came out and tried to block the shot, but Spike Clough slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 29th minute. Warren Allott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lance Fordham kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Alexander Monkhouse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Warren Allott, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Thirsk's goalkeeper Den Watson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The wind increased when Francis Coates made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Francis Coates shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Den Watson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jake Dowrick kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. The supporters of Barhill City booed when Thirsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caleb Summers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Warren Allott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Alexander Monkhouse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Spike Clough sped through Barhill City's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alexander Monkhouse. 76 minutes into the match, Barhill City's goal looked a bit too open when Warren Allott came free, but Alexander Monkhouse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Spike Clough came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Thirsk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Spike Clough couldn't finish the play. Alexander Monkhouse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Spike Clough in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 83rd minute Thirsk were awarded a corner. Warren Allott went to the cornerflag to take it. Warren Allott succeeded in the game's 86th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-2. After 93 played minutes, Barhill City's Syd Hampton shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Den Watson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Barhill City reached it. There was no doubt that Thirsk were the better team. Thirsk's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
