Chislehurst's Ronnie Dove played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derek Dickens in the 3rd minute of play. Bideford's Daryl Proctor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Bideford from getting a goal against them. In the 9th minute of the match Chislehurst got a corner. Bideford's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Felix May ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Felix May got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Daryl Proctor quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Derek Dickens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Ronnie Dove tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Archie McCartney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Dove having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Derek Dickens in the 29th minute of play forced Chislehurst's goalkeeper Ronnie Dove to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cody Sheehan took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Daryl Proctor. Daryl Proctor dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Alex Kershaw might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daryl Proctor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alex Kershaw ran back to his position shaking his head. Daryl Proctor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Kershaw in the 41st minute of the match. In the 41st match minute, Bideford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Beaver to maneuver through the defense. Daryl Proctor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Kershaw, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Archie McCartney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Alex Kershaw made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Chislehurst booed when Bideford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pete Tuck didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute, Alex Kershaw made a precise shot to the right of Daryl Proctor. Bideford's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Rick Dixon scored 4-1 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daryl Proctor, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 70th minute, Zackary Little hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daryl Proctor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Kershaw in the 71st minute of the match. Ronnie Dove took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Derek Dickens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Bradley Meehan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronnie Dove was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Archie McCartney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Chislehurst getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Alex Kershaw hit a great ball. In the 97th minute, Derek Dickens left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bideford fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Bideford's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
