Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Beinn Shakespeare kicked off to start the match. When Marcus Law fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Halstead's protests and gave Marcus Law a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Basingstoke City booed when Halstead was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Law didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kelvin Mullan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Seth Reeve in the 6th minute of the match. Hugh Sears took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beinn Shakespeare, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Basingstoke City getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Len Trotter hit a great ball. In the 13th minute, Dale Dobson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kelvin Mullan was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Len Trotter kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Sacha Flack made a precise shot to the right of Hugh Sears. Basingstoke City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Dale Dobson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 23 minutes, Dale Dobson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Basingstoke City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dale Dobson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kelvin Mullan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Seth Reeve in the 36th minute of the match. Beinn Shakespeare struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Hugh Sears didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Halstead. Sacha Flack received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Hugh Sears tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Basingstoke City fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 46th minute. Penalty! Basingstoke City:s Hugh Sears showed great skill when he stopped Ash Myers:s penalty.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Seth Reeve to make the kick off. Hugh Sears made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beinn Shakespeare in the 53rd minute of play. Kelvin Mullan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dale Dobson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 73 minutes into the match, Basingstoke City's Dale Dobson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kelvin Mullan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 75 minutes of play, Basingstoke City's Seth Reeve made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kelvin Mullan was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 79 played minutes Basingstoke City got a freekick which was hit by Josh Foggarty. Halstead's Kelvin Mullan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dale Dobson in the 86th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Sacha Flack managed to get in a good position for a shot. Halstead's supporters rose to their feet, but Sacha Flack was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugh Sears breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Basingstoke City support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
