The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jim Ripley during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Corby booed when Moreton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jim Ripley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stu Sercombe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Greg Morgan's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Moreton's Stu Sercombe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nial Crittenden in the 39th minute of play. Stu Sercombe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nial Crittenden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jack Attenborough to strike the kick off in the second half.
