Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Isle of Wight FC's Kenny Ruddock started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Teddy Verity scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kristopher Hayles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 16 minutes into the match, Teddy Verity notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Milton Keynes's Kristopher Hayles. Kristopher Hayles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Damon Sadler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kristopher Hayles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Michael Messenger during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 23rd minute, Leon Pell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Conal Boyle kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. If Kenny Ruddock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd play minute Louie Jones came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tommy Pullen. 1-2. Kristopher Hayles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenny Ruddock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teddy Verity in the 37th minute of play forced Milton Keynes's goalkeeper Kristopher Hayles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kenny Ruddock's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kristopher Hayles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. When Grant Reeve fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Milton Keynes's protests and gave Grant Reeve a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Milton Keynes getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Grant Reeve hit a great ball. If Kenny Ruddock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Curtis Bow's late challenge caught a Isle of Wight FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Curtis Bow helped the player get up and apologised. Curtis Bow hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. If Kenny Ruddock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leon Pell made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Louie Jones got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of Isle of Wight FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Milton Keynes:s goal. After 61 played minutes Isle of Wight FC got a freekick which was hit by Conal Newlyn. In the 65thth minute of the game Kenny Ruddock who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Milton Keynes's Kristopher Hayles was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vernon Liddle's late challenge caught a Isle of Wight FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vernon Liddle helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Isle of Wight FC booed when Milton Keynes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vernon Liddle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kenny Ruddock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristopher Hayles having to interfere. Matthew Forbes hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. If Kenny Ruddock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Milton Keynes's Kristopher Hayles got control of the ball when Teddy Verity tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Kenny Ruddock's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kristopher Hayles was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. When Teddy Verity came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Isle of Wight FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teddy Verity couldn't finish the play.
