The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ollie Tetley during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ollie Tetley hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Yeadon United's Karl Wallbank got control of the ball when Dale Wilkins tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dale Wilkins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nicky Browne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl Wallbank having to interfere. In the 12thth minute of the game Nicky Browne who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Yeadon United's Karl Wallbank was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Moretonhampstead's Verne Scargill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ollie Tetley in the 14th minute of play. 17 minutes into the game, Nicky Browne recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Karl Wallbank. Nicky Browne showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ollie Tetley in the 21st minute of play forced Moretonhampstead's goalkeeper Verne Scargill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Tanner might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Verne Scargill. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Tanner ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Moretonhampstead's Roger Gough got a free kick in the 27th minute. After 27 played minutes Frank Bagshaw shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Moretonhampstead's Verne Scargill to catch but Frank Bagshaw was lucky. It became 1-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. In the 32ndth minute of the game Joel Tanner who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Moretonhampstead's Verne Scargill was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 34th minute Ollie Tetley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Verne Scargill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel Tanner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Verne Scargill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Alexander Saxton charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alexander Saxton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Yeadon United booed when Moretonhampstead was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Saxton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karl Wallbank tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the game, Zak Buckley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Yeadon United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Moretonhampstead the free kick. Zak Buckley kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dale Wilkins in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Karl Wallbank prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Yeadon United getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Don Millman hit a great ball. In the 67th minute Roger Gough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Wallbank saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ollie Tetley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Verne Scargill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ollie Tetley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl Wallbank took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dale Wilkins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wesley Askew during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 87th minute, Wesley Askew hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dale Wilkins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Karl Wallbank tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dale Wilkins blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karl Wallbank having to make a save.
