Robert Butterfield was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 5 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Hawkcombe United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 4th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Long Hanborough a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ashley Howarth, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Hawkcombe United's Camron Kingston. 0-1. Ashley Howarth's late challenge caught a Hawkcombe United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ashley Howarth helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Long Hanborough's Ashley Howarth got a free kick in the 11th minute. Eddie Hylton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Scott Nethercot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rupert Button in the 14th minute of play forced Hawkcombe United's goalkeeper Camron Kingston to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rupert Button sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute Blair Brayson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camron Kingston saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damian Ronson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Damian Ronson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Scott Nethercot having to interfere. A collision led to Long Hanborough getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Byron Garner hit a great ball. After 33 played minutes Hawkcombe United got a freekick which was hit by Damian Ronson. Blair Brayson scored 0-2 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Camron Kingston, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 44 minutes into the game, Long Hanborough's Rupert Button nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Camron Kingston made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Hawkcombe United's Camron Kingston played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Byron Garner in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

56 minutes into the match, Hawkcombe United's Damian Ronson broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Hawkcombe United's Adrian Hurren got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Louis Sharp came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Hawkcombe United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Louis Sharp couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Blair Brayson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Long Hanborough's supporters rose to their feet, but Blair Brayson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Camron Kingston breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Shane Deakin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Camron Kingston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the game, Blair Brayson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Camron Kingston. Blair Brayson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. A collision led to Hawkcombe United getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Louis Sharp hit a great ball. Rupert Button in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Camron Kingston, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Hawkcombe United's Adrian Hurren got a free kick in the 74th minute. With a little luck, Hawkcombe United's Camron Kingston got control of the ball when Rupert Button tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Hawkcombe United's Damian Ronson got a free kick in the 80th minute. Hawkcombe United's Adrian Hurren quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Hugh Hudson, made in the 84th minute of the game. If Adrian Hurren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damian Ronson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Scott Nethercot having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Long Hanborough walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
