The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Robert Nightingale came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Williton United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robert Nightingale couldn't finish the play. Pedro Gardner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mick Kearney in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute, David Workman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eric Holdcroft hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. An unexpected shot in the 16th minute by Marc Mayall got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 18 minutes into the match, Williton United's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Allison came free, but Billy Jenas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Billy Jenas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Allison in the 19th minute of play. When Marc Mayall came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Blandford Forum fans jumped to their feet. Pedro Gardner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duncan Booth in the 24th minute of the match. Billy Jenas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marc Mayall in the 30th minute. 34 minutes into the match, Blandford Forum's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Holdcroft came free, but Pedro Gardner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Billy Jenas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Allison in the 36th minute of the match. Williton United's Billy Jenas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Allison in the 42nd minute of play. Billy Jenas made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Marc Mayall sent off a good shot on target. Louie Tolley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Duncan Booth was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Williton United's zone, Marc Mayall stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Billy Jenas came out of the goal and Marc Mayall tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lucas Allison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Marc Mayall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Blandford Forum's Pedro Gardner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duncan Booth in the 67th minute of play. Marc Mayall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Billy Jenas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Allison in the 79th minute of play forced Williton United's goalkeeper Billy Jenas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 85 minutes of play, Blandford Forum's Lucas Allison made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Billy Jenas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pedro Gardner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duncan Booth, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The audience was convinced that Duncan Booth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Gardner was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. Chants of Williton United echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Blandford Forum had held the ball for most of the match.
