An unexpectedly hard shot by Owen Henman in the 15th minute of play forced Ninfield's goalkeeper Freddie Meehan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Freddie Meehan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Owen Henman, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Ritchie Bator recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Freddie Meehan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vance Tomkin went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Bury FC's Damien Milton got a free kick in the 25th minute. Stew Coton hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Vance Tomkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bury FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vance Tomkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freddie Meehan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd match minute, Bury FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodd Burrows to maneuver through the defense. Freddie Meehan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Owen Henman in the 46th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ritchie Bator to make the kick off. Vinnie May kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Freddie Meehan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vance Tomkin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 57 minute of play. A hard shot by Hayden Land from long distance, 61 minutes into the match, got Freddie Meehan's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Ritchie Bator sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ritchie Bator might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Perry Claydon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ritchie Bator ran back to his position shaking his head. Perry Claydon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ritchie Bator in the 69th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mickey Ashton in the 85th minute of play forced Bury FC's goalkeeper Perry Claydon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 89 minutes into the match, Ninfield's goal looked a bit too open when Vance Tomkin came free, but Freddie Meehan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Freddie Meehan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mickey Hitchen in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vance Tomkin in the 92nd minute of play forced Ninfield's goalkeeper Freddie Meehan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ninfield's Freddie Meehan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Ninfield from getting a goal against them. Ritchie Bator scored 1-4 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Perry Claydon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bury FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
