Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Glen Jepson started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Lance Chapman hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After having played for 5 minutes, Lucas Beresford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burtonwood's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Beresford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Reg Fielden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ralph Kent, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Taunton FC's zone, Lucas Beresford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reg Fielden came out of the goal and Lucas Beresford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brett Blackwell kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Lucas Beresford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reg Fielden having to interfere. If Lucas Beresford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the match, Taunton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ralph Kent came free, but Reg Fielden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ralph Kent stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ralph Kent received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Reg Fielden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes into the game, Henry Lamb was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Burtonwood's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taunton FC the free kick. The supporters of Taunton FC booed when Burtonwood was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Lamb didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Glen Jepson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Burtonwood's attack was well implemented in the 72nd minute, but when Lucas Beresford was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Lucas Beresford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reg Fielden having to interfere. A collision led to Taunton FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Tim Beecham hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute, Kristopher McNiven sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Taunton FC's Reg Fielden didn't even have to move. Grant Machin came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Taunton FC's Fred Jones. But to his dismay, Fred Jones quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After 94 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Taunton FC! The goalkeeper, Reg Fielden, was totally fooled by Burtonwood's Kristopher McNiven, who 96 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Many of Burtonwood's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Burtonwood may have spent more time on the ball, but Taunton FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
