The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Simon Clayson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Maylett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simon Clayson in the 8th minute of the match. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Peacehaven City's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mattias Broadhurst was slow to take the kick. During this time Louth's players had a chance to rest. Tyler Hanson made a great header on Louth's corner, it was just that Peacehaven City's Felix Maylett managed to reach the ball for a save. Laurence Morrell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peacehaven City's Felix Maylett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurence Morrell in the 18th minute of play. In the 18th match minute, Peacehaven City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonny Chambers to maneuver through the defense. Simon Clayson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Simon Clayson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Felix Maylett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Peacehaven City's goalkeeper Felix Maylett, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 34 played minutes Peacehaven City got a freekick which was hit by Nigel Butterfield. In the 36th minute Simon Clayson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Maylett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Louth's Russell Drake proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Louth from getting a goal against them. Laurence Morrell took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Felix Maylett. Felix Maylett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

53 minutes into the match, Rodd Jefferies had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Russell Drake. Louth's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodd Jefferies was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Simon Clayson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Felix Maylett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute of the match, Ivan Downham got a very nice opportunity to score, but Felix Maylett was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 64th minute, Scott Theakston got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Peacehaven City's Felix Maylett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurence Morrell in the 67th minute of play. Russell Drake stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodd Jefferies's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. With a little luck, Peacehaven City's Felix Maylett got control of the ball when Laurence Morrell tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simon Clayson in the 83rd minute of play forced Peacehaven City's goalkeeper Felix Maylett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Simon Clayson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Felix Maylett was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Russell Drake made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodd Jefferies in the 93rd minute of play. If Scott Theakston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Peacehaven City fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Louth were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
