The tension between the Peacehaven City and the Waterfoot United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 2 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Peacehaven City! The referee gave Waterfoot United a penalty, 4 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Romeo Burns, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Peacehaven City's Felix Maylett. 0-1. Ivor Shotton might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felix Maylett. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivor Shotton ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodd Jefferies got free with Steve Green in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bill Durrant kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Peacehaven City's Bill Durrant got a free kick in the 15th minute. Steve Green took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Scott Theakston, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Steve Green made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Rodd Jefferies sent off a good shot on target. In the 34thth minute of the game Scott Theakston who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Waterfoot United's Steve Green was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Scott Theakston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Green having to interfere. Rodd Jefferies could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Steve Green made a huge save. Felix Maylett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivor Shotton in the 45th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Scott Theakston stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ivor Shotton struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Felix Maylett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Waterfoot United. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Waterfoot United's goalkeeper Steve Green, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Scott Theakston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Green having to interfere. In the 65th match minute, Waterfoot United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnathan Young to maneuver through the defense. Rodd Jefferies fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Green having to interfere. Felix Maylett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leroy Mahon, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Waterfoot United's Romeo Burns was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Felix Maylett in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Pierce Porter fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Peacehaven City's protests and gave Pierce Porter a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Waterfoot United booed when Peacehaven City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierce Porter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leroy Mahon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felix Maylett read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Waterfoot United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
