Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lawrence Pettifer started the match with the kick off. 7 minutes into the game, Vincent Jewson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Les Elvins. Vincent Jewson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Dylan Holdsworth's late challenge caught a Shelfield's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dylan Holdsworth helped the player get up and apologised. In the 10th minute, Dylan Holdsworth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the match, Purbrook's goal looked a bit too open when Lawrence Pettifer came free, but Howard Wildman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Howard Wildman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lawrence Pettifer, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Purbrook's Vincent Jewson got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Howard Wildman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ged Gurney's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lawrence Pettifer in the 27th minute of play forced Purbrook's goalkeeper Howard Wildman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the game, Nial Butters was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Purbrook's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Shelfield the free kick. Nial Butters hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After having played for 42 minutes, Lawrence Pettifer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shelfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lawrence Pettifer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Purbrook defense, Lawrence Pettifer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Howard Wildman. The Purbrook fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Howard Wildman should have stopped the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vincent Jewson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Dean Kempson notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Shelfield's Les Elvins. Les Elvins was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Les Elvins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vincent Jewson in the 54th minute of play. Les Elvins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Jewson, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Dylan Holdsworth got his second yellow card in the match during the 64th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Dylan Holdsworth kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Ged Gurney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Purbrook's Derek Chambers got a free kick in the 68th minute. After 74 minutes, Lawrence Pettifer made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. Purbrook's Howard Wildman tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Calvin Doona's late challenge caught a Purbrook's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Calvin Doona helped the player get up and apologised. Calvin Doona kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Lawrence Pettifer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shelfield's Ged Gurney got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ged Gurney might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Howard Wildman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ged Gurney ran back to his position shaking his head.
