Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ken Wagstaff took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ken Wagstaff in the 3rd minute of play forced Verwood United's goalkeeper Donny Ottaway to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donny Ottaway showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ken Wagstaff, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. After 6 played minutes Verwood United got a freekick which was hit by Sam York. Ken Wagstaff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Russell Askew during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Russell Askew kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Verwood United's zone, Tod Garrett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donny Ottaway came out of the goal and Tod Garrett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Garth Conway fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donny Ottaway having to interfere. The supporters of Old Bexley booed when Verwood United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Hampshire didn't get a good kick on the ball. Old Bexley's Ken Wagstaff got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joe Mumford in the 29th minute of play forced Old Bexley's goalkeeper Ted Butcher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Harvey Graves got free with Ted Butcher in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ted Butcher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joe Mumford, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. If Joe Mumford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

52 minutes into the match, Verwood United's goalkeeper Donny Ottaway had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Garth Conway. After 54th play minutes Garth Conway shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Donny Ottaway and just under the crossbar into goal. Old Bexley's Garth Conway got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ken Wagstaff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Garth Conway in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donny Ottaway saved Verwood United from getting behind. Old Bexley's Ted Butcher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joe Mumford in the 69th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Verwood United's Harvey Graves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ted Butcher narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Verwood United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 75th minute, when Ken Wagstaff scored to the left of an out of position Donny Ottaway, making the score, 0-2. Donny Ottaway made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ken Wagstaff in the 78th minute of play. After 80 played minutes Old Bexley got a freekick which was hit by Ken Wagstaff. In the 81st minute, Harvey Graves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Old Bexley's Ken Wagstaff in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Verwood United's goalie prevented a goal. 86 minutes into the match, Verwood United's goal looked a bit too open when Ken Wagstaff came free, but Donny Ottaway reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Donny Ottaway made an important save on a dangerous shot by Garth Conway in the 89th minute. Robert Buchanan's late challenge caught a Old Bexley's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Robert Buchanan helped the player get up and apologised. After 90 played minutes Verwood United got a freekick which was hit by Robert Buchanan. Donny Ottaway made an important save on a dangerous shot by Garth Conway in the 91st minute. When Old Bexley's Ken Wagstaff in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Verwood United's goalie prevented a goal.
