Outwood FC's Paddy Thackray played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barney Mason in the 14th minute of play. In the 18th match minute, Outwood FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Corcoran to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Barney Mason got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Brinklow United's Gavin Waltham sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paddy Thackray narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Paddy Thackray made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gavin Waltham in the 22nd minute. When Michael Corcoran fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Outwood FC's protests and gave Michael Corcoran a yellow card for diving instead. After 26 minutes of play Outwood FC's Michael Corcoran was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. If Liam Panther had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gavin Waltham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paddy Thackray having to interfere. Outwood FC's Paddy Thackray proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Outwood FC from getting a goal against them. Drew Pointon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ritchie Paget in the 40th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Zackary Willoughby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute, Gavin Waltham ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paddy Thackray was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ritchie Paget to strike the kick off in the second half. If Gavin Waltham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gavin Waltham in the 57th minute of play forced Outwood FC's goalkeeper Paddy Thackray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paddy Thackray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gavin Waltham in the 70th minute of the match. Ritchie Paget's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Drew Pointon firmly grabbed it by the left post. Outwood FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
