In the 5thth minute of the game Blair Griffin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Tunarii's Rutger Holm was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rick Bridgeman couldn't finish the play. After 24 played minutes FC Tunarii got a freekick which was hit by Vasile Antipa. Ryan Woolcock struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Rutger Holm didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canterbury. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Ryan Woolcock managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canterbury's supporters rose to their feet, but Ryan Woolcock was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rutger Holm breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 38 minutes into the game, Rick Bridgeman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Tunarii's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Canterbury the free kick. In the 38th minute, Rick Bridgeman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Canterbury getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. William Marsden hit a great ball. 42 minutes into the game, Canterbury's Ryan Woolcock nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rutger Holm made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ryan Woolcock made the kick off in the second half. Les Dexter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martyn English having to interfere. After some careless play in the FC Tunarii defense, Ruben Mellon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rutger Holm. The FC Tunarii fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rutger Holm should have stopped the shot. Rutger Holm was a little too slow when Blair Griffin got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 0-3. 66 minutes into the match, FC Tunarii's goalkeeper Rutger Holm had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ruben Mellon. William Marsden's late challenge caught a FC Tunarii's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. William Marsden helped the player get up and apologised. In the 68th minute, William Marsden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute of the match Rick Bridgeman sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Martyn English skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nathan Percival during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Tunarii's Nathan Percival got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 72nd match minute, FC Tunarii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nathan Percival to maneuver through the defense.
