Prescot City's Marouane Mezali played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Belkheir Lacen in the 18th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Prescot City's zone, Belkheir Lacen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marouane Mezali came out of the goal and Belkheir Lacen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Afaghis Zaghloul might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yazid Benzine. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Afaghis Zaghloul ran back to his position shaking his head. Belkheir Lacen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Afaghis Zaghloul in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yazid Benzine prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Wellen Rezkallah managed to get in a good position for a shot. Prescot City's supporters rose to their feet, but Wellen Rezkallah was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yazid Benzine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Prescot City's goalkeeper Marouane Mezali, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 61st minute Belkheir Lacen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marouane Mezali saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yazid Benzine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wellen Rezkallah, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belkheir Lacen in the 70th minute of play forced Prescot City's goalkeeper Marouane Mezali to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marouane Mezali showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amayas Benattia, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Hayes FC's Amayas Benattia got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amayas Benattia in the 82nd minute of play forced Prescot City's goalkeeper Marouane Mezali to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Hayes FC had won after a very even match.
