An unexpected shot in the 3rd minute by Chadli Kouici got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 5 minutes into the match, Preston City's goal looked a bit too open when Antar Tobbal came free, but Fadhil Makhloufi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Cheltenham's Atmane Djeballi in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Preston City's goalie prevented a goal. Cheltenham's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ketta Zeghbouche in the 15th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Antar Tobbal heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Frawsen Masmouda hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Atmane Djeballi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fadhil Makhloufi having to interfere. Fadhil Makhloufi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antar Tobbal in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Preston City's goalkeeper Fadhil Makhloufi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fadhil Makhloufi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Atmane Djeballi went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Atmane Djeballi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Cheltenham's Aras Redouane got control of the ball when Chadli Kouici tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chadli Kouici received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Aras Redouane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Asmil Oudin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aras Redouane having to interfere. Chedli Bitat charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chedli Bitat the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Asmil Oudin to make the kick off. Fadhil Makhloufi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antar Tobbal in the 55th minute. In the 63rd play minute Bouzid Taâllah came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Fadhil Makhloufi. 0-3. Aras Redouane stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chadli Kouici's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. After 71 played minutes Preston City got a freekick which was hit by Kader Hadji. After a defensive mix-up in Preston City's zone, Atmane Djeballi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fadhil Makhloufi came out of the goal and Atmane Djeballi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fadhil Makhloufi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atmane Djeballi in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Cheltenham's goal looked a bit too open when Asmil Oudin came free, but Aras Redouane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Cheltenham getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Ramdane Ighil hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, Cheltenham's goal looked a bit too open when Chadli Kouici came free, but Aras Redouane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fadhil Makhloufi came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Cheltenham's Antar Tobbal. But to his dismay, Antar Tobbal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Antar Tobbal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cheltenham played a much better game than Preston City and deserved their victory. The Preston City players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
