Liverpool's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hicham Mezali was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wantage's Karim Rzighi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aggur Mazouna in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Hicham Mezali got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Choukri Abid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Choukri Abid received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Walid Belkheir tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hicham Mezali fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karim Rzighi having to interfere. A collision led to Wantage getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Hakim Meriem hit a great ball. In the 35thth minute of the game Choukri Abid who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Liverpool's Walid Belkheir was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aggur Mazouna took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Karim Rzighi. Karim Rzighi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Hicham Mezali sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sofiane Riyah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the game, Ziad Adjani was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wantage's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Liverpool the free kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Hicham Mezali made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Choukri Abid in the 53rd minute of play forced Liverpool's goalkeeper Walid Belkheir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sabri Fari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walid Belkheir having to interfere. After 67 played minutes Wantage got a freekick which was hit by Habib Seghiri. 70 minutes into the game, Belkacem Abbas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liverpool's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wantage the free kick. Liverpool:s Walid Belkheir showed great skill when he stopped Mahboub Benkirat:s penalty. When Choukri Abid came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Wantage fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Choukri Abid couldn't finish the play. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wantage's goalkeeper Karim Rzighi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Karim Rzighi was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Hicham Mezali capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hicham Mezali really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. In the 93rd minute, Liverpool's Hicham Mezali dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Wantage's zone, Aggur Mazouna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karim Rzighi came out of the goal and Aggur Mazouna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
