Toufik Medaci lost his temper 3 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Salford United:s Anas Aounellah showed great skill when he stopped Saadi Saïfi:s penalty. If Mouloud Mezali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mouloud Mezali fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Billel Hammadouch having to interfere. Khaldoun Zaâmoucha in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Anas Aounellah, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Billel Hammadouch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mouloud Mezali in the 29th minute of the match. Mouloud Mezali fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Billel Hammadouch having to interfere. If Khaldoun Zaâmoucha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anas Aounellah stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amawal Faudel's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. With a little luck, Salford United's Anas Aounellah got control of the ball when Khaldoun Zaâmoucha tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 46th minute, Khaldoun Zaâmoucha reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Anas Aounellah. The goal made the score 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amawal Faudel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Calverley's zone, Mouloud Mezali stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Billel Hammadouch came out of the goal and Mouloud Mezali tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Khaldoun Zaâmoucha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calverley's supporters rose to their feet, but Khaldoun Zaâmoucha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anas Aounellah breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th minute, Nabil Medaci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amawal Faudel in the 62nd minute of play forced Salford United's goalkeeper Anas Aounellah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the game, Saadi Saïfi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Calverley's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salford United the free kick. In the 70th match minute, Calverley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saadi Saïfi to maneuver through the defense. After 74 minutes, Amawal Faudel made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Salford United's Anas Aounellah tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Anas Aounellah stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Khaldoun Zaâmoucha's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Mouloud Mezali's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Billel Hammadouch read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Mouloud Mezali received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Billel Hammadouch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Calverley's Amawal Faudel got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Calverley's zone, Nabil Medaci stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Billel Hammadouch came out of the goal and Nabil Medaci tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Salford United players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Calverley.
