Lamine Apap's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adrir Kosbi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. If Lamine Apap had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atherstone FC's Ahmis Hamdoud got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lamine Apap in the 8th minute of play forced Birkenhead AFC's goalkeeper Adrir Kosbi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Birkenhead AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Lamine Apap came free, but Adrir Kosbi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lamine Apap in the 12th minute of play forced Birkenhead AFC's goalkeeper Adrir Kosbi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Mohan Barbarossa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Birkenhead AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atherstone FC the free kick. Mohan Barbarossa kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Atherstone FC's Yazid Medjiba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdelhakim Bouchnak in the 19th minute of play. Adrir Kosbi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmis Hamdoud in the 21st minute of play. Lamine Apap received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Adrir Kosbi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adid Fanon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yazid Medjiba having to interfere. In the 30th minute Lamine Apap shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrir Kosbi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ahmis Hamdoud sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yazid Medjiba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdelhakim Bouchnak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmis Hamdoud in the 41st minute of play forced Birkenhead AFC's goalkeeper Adrir Kosbi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abdelhakim Bouchnak was the one to do the kick off. If Abdelhakim Bouchnak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 59th minute of the match Mohan Barbarossa completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Mohan Barbarossa a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Atherstone FC booed when Birkenhead AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mohan Barbarossa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 65 played minutes Birkenhead AFC got a freekick which was hit by Choukri Bentaala. Lamine Apap received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Adrir Kosbi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Ahmis Hamdoud managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atherstone FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ahmis Hamdoud was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrir Kosbi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72nd minute, Ahmis Hamdoud fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Adrir Kosbi, passed just outside the right post. Birkenhead AFC's Adrir Kosbi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Birkenhead AFC from getting a goal against them. Abdelhakim Bouchnak kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Adrir Kosbi made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Lamine Apap sent off a good shot on target. Atherstone FC's Yazid Medjiba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adid Fanon in the 88th minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
