The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Riad Yahia made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Zakaria Kouidri sent off a good shot on target. Bani Redouane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdeldjalil Mehenni having to interfere. Abdeldjalil Mehenni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bani Redouane's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Riad Yahia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdelaziz Madouni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, Zakaria Kouidri fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Riad Yahia, passed just outside the right post. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of Ipswich:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Wembley:s goal. Abdelaziz Madouni had several of the Ipswich's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 31 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Riad Yahia as he didn't even see the shot coming. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Madani Kateb managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ipswich's supporters rose to their feet, but Madani Kateb was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abdeldjalil Mehenni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Ipswich getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Amad Banou Attyya hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bani Redouane in the 43rd minute of play forced Wembley's goalkeeper Abdeldjalil Mehenni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wembley's Abdeldjalil Mehenni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Madani Kateb in the 45th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abdelaziz Madouni stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zakaria Kouidri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abdelaziz Madouni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Riad Yahia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Abdeldjalil Mehenni successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Madani Kateb's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abdeldjalil Mehenni read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Wembley's zone, Madani Kateb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdeldjalil Mehenni came out of the goal and Madani Kateb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bani Redouane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdeldjalil Mehenni having to interfere. Bani Redouane who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Abdeldjalil Mehenni when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Abdeldjalil Mehenni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Madani Kateb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abdeldjalil Mehenni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Madani Kateb in the 79th minute of the match. Riad Yahia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zakaria Kouidri, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Ahmed Benzaghou kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After 88 played minutes Wembley got a freekick which was hit by Abderrazek Chaib. Bani Redouane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdeldjalil Mehenni having to interfere. Ipswich's Bani Redouane got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wembley's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
