Fayçal Fillali hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Amattaken Metref from long distance, 11 minutes into the match, got Abdelhakim Hamdaoui's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Medjadi El Kenz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fayçal Fillali's late challenge caught a Ashburton AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fayçal Fillali helped the player get up and apologised. In the 20th minute, Fayçal Fillali hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stevenage AFC's Abdelhakim Hamdaoui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdelkader Brahimi in the 26th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Anis Skif reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Abdelhakim Hamdaoui. The goal made the score 1-0. Abdelhakim Hamdaoui made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sabri Ihidjaten in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Medjadi El Kenz was the one to do the kick off. Sabri Ihidjaten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Abdelhakim Hamdaoui tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Abdelkader Brahimi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ashburton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Abdelkader Brahimi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abdelhakim Hamdaoui breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Abdelkader Brahimi came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Ashburton AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abdelkader Brahimi couldn't finish the play. 68 minutes into the match, Ashburton AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Medjadi El Kenz came free, but Zinedine Hemdani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zine-Eddine Dahmane succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 71st playminute. 76 minutes into the match, Ashburton AFC's goalkeeper Zinedine Hemdani had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zine-Eddine Dahmane. After a defensive mix-up in Ashburton AFC's zone, Zine-Eddine Dahmane stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zinedine Hemdani came out of the goal and Zine-Eddine Dahmane tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Medjadi El Kenz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zinedine Hemdani having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Medjadi El Kenz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 93rd minute Abdelkader Brahimi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdelhakim Hamdaoui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
