Potters Bar City's Lounès Trari got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute Abdelmadjid Messis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mustapha Mami saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amhaws Aflelou couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lounès Trari to strike the kick off in the second half. Amhaws Aflelou might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mustapha Mami. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amhaws Aflelou ran back to his position shaking his head. Abdelmadjid Messis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mustapha Mami having to interfere. The supporters of Aveley booed when Potters Bar City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fouhad Merzekane didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amhaws Aflelou in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mustapha Mami prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amhaws Reddad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Nasserredine Larbi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Potters Bar City's Mustapha Mami played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amhaws Aflelou in the 81st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Amhaws Aflelou kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mustapha Mami. That made the score 0-1 in the 83 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lounès Trari in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nasserredine Larbi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 89th match minute, Potters Bar City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giss Yacine to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Potters Bar City's zone, Abdelmadjid Messis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mustapha Mami came out of the goal and Abdelmadjid Messis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute, Fouhad Merzekane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Aveley had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
