But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adza Hammad couldn't finish the play. 4 minutes in the game, Amhaws Kazi-Tani fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Chawki Kader having to interfere. Adza Hammad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Meldreth getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Alsan El Moubarek hit a great ball. In the 13th match minute, Meldreth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bahi Benzaghou to maneuver through the defense. Cherif Mezghich might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Karim Boutella. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cherif Mezghich ran back to his position shaking his head. If Mustapha Zaghidour had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adza Hammad got free with Chawki Kader in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 34 minutes into the match, Thornbury AFC's goalkeeper Chawki Kader had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adza Hammad. Amhaws Kazi-Tani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chawki Kader having to interfere. Karim Boutella showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mustapha Zaghidour, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Mustapha Zaghidour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Thornbury AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 46th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Meldreth a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Chérif Boukhari, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Thornbury AFC's Chawki Kader. 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cherif Mezghich made a kick off. In the 57thth minute of the game Cherif Mezghich who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Meldreth's Karim Boutella was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cherif Mezghich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Karim Boutella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Mustapha Zaghidour got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Mustapha Zaghidour notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Meldreth's Karim Boutella. Karim Boutella was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cherif Mezghich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the match, Meldreth's goalkeeper Karim Boutella had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mustapha Zaghidour. Meldreth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amhaws Kazi-Tani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chawki Kader showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amhaws Kazi-Tani in the 84th minute of the match. The supporters of Meldreth booed when Thornbury AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adan Yahia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adza Hammad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Chawki Kader tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thornbury AFC's Chawki Kader played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bahi Benzaghou in the 91st minute of play. Karim Boutella made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Mustapha Zaghidour sent off a good shot on target. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
