The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Ibrahim Djaghloul fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Great Bookham City's protests and gave Ibrahim Djaghloul a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th minute, Ibrahim Djaghloul hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mansour Assam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Benamar Djoudi made a huge save. Benamar Djoudi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samir Benhamou in the 7th minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Bakki Ounissi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Salim Halimi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Salim Halimi in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abdellatif Diafat prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benamar Djoudi was a little too slow when Samir Benhamou got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 1-0. Benamar Djoudi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samir Benhamou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rabia Nasri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Meldreth United's Samir Benhamou in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Great Bookham City's goalie prevented a goal. Samir Benhamou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Salim Halimi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Great Bookham City's supporters rose to their feet, but Salim Halimi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abdellatif Diafat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Samir Benhamou made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Great Bookham City's goal looked a bit too open when Mansour Assam came free, but Benamar Djoudi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rabia Nasri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Salim Halimi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Great Bookham City's Rabia Nasri in the 64th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Abdellatif Diafat was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Meldreth United through an amazing save. If Ziad Zerouali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th match minute, Meldreth United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bassi Amri to maneuver through the defense. Salim Halimi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Abdellatif Diafat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rabia Nasri in the 74th minute of play forced Meldreth United's goalkeeper Abdellatif Diafat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Salim Halimi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 77 played minutes Meldreth United got a freekick which was hit by Abderrahmane Massi. In the 78th minute Rabia Nasri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdellatif Diafat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 86th minute Samir Benhamou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benamar Djoudi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samir Benhamou struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Benamar Djoudi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meldreth United. If Samir Benhamou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Samir Benhamou came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Meldreth United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samir Benhamou couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bakki Ounissi during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Salim Halimi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Abdellatif Diafat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Great Bookham City's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
