Fahd Boudiaf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Farid Kosbi, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Fahd Boudiaf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afennich Bahmane in the 4th minute of the match. In the 5th minute, Gebril Foughali left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Welling fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The audience was convinced that Gebril Foughali's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fahd Boudiaf was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Afennich Bahmane's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fahd Boudiaf read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Rotherham City's zone, Gebril Foughali stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fahd Boudiaf came out of the goal and Gebril Foughali tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th minute, Aflawas Faudel fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fouad Hammou, passed just outside the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Aflawas Faudel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rotherham City's supporters rose to their feet, but Aflawas Faudel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fouad Hammou breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fouad Hammou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Driss Nemchi in the 47th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Afennich Bahmane made a kick off. After 52 played minutes Welling got a freekick which was hit by Farid Kosbi. After recieving a nice pass, Rotherham City's Djamal Ben Cherif tried to score from far away in the 53rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Welling's zone, Driss Nemchi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fouad Hammou came out of the goal and Driss Nemchi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 60 minutes of play Welling's Farid Kosbi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. If Aflawas Faudel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Moulay Benali managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rotherham City's supporters rose to their feet, but Moulay Benali was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fouad Hammou breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Driss Nemchi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Fouad Hammou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afennich Bahmane's late challenge caught a Rotherham City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afennich Bahmane helped the player get up and apologised. In the 66th match minute, Welling was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afennich Bahmane to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aflawas Faudel in the 67th minute of play forced Welling's goalkeeper Fouad Hammou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gebril Foughali could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Fahd Boudiaf made a huge save. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aflawas Faudel couldn't finish the play. In the 85th minute, Aflawas Faudel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rotherham City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. If Afennich Bahmane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, Rotherham City's goalkeeper Fahd Boudiaf had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gebril Foughali. If Afennich Bahmane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Welling had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
