Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hernani Caneças started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Carrapichel Angolano's Manoel Linhares got a free kick in the 4th minute. The supporters of Carrapichel Angolano booed when Birkenhead was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hernani Caneças didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Hernani Caneças kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Balduíno Flores. That made the score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toni Akwa in the 15th minute of play forced Birkenhead's goalkeeper Pedro Bouça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Toni Akwa in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Bouça prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 19thth minute of the game Toni Akwa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Birkenhead's Pedro Bouça was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 20 minutes, Toni Akwa made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Birkenhead's Pedro Bouça tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Toni Akwa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 24th minute, Eduardo Ezequiel Niz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Maurício Mendes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Toni Akwa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Bouça was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Birkenhead defense, Toni Akwa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Bouça. The Birkenhead fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Bouça should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Toni Akwa in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Bouça saved Birkenhead from getting behind. Tadeu Fontão hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Pedro Bouça didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Toni Akwa went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. A collision led to Birkenhead getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Lopo Polido hit a great ball. In the 47th minute Toni Akwa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Bouça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 51st minute, Carlos Freire fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Pedro Bouça, passed just outside the right post. Carlos Freire could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Pedro Bouça made a huge save. Toni Akwa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Pedro Bouça made a huge save. With a little luck, Birkenhead's Pedro Bouça got control of the ball when Carlos Freire tried to sneak it across the goal line. Balduíno Flores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tadeu Fontão in the 79th minute of the match. With his leg Pedro Bouça managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Carrapichel Angolano's Toni Akwa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 84 minutes into the match, Birkenhead's goal looked a bit too open when Toni Akwa came free, but Pedro Bouça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 85 in the game by Toni Akwa from a close distance when the talented Pedro Bouça managed to make a qualified save. Birkenhead's players were relieved. After 89 played minutes Birkenhead got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Fernandes Braga. Balduíno Flores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernani Caneças, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
