Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Henry Mangope started the match with the kick off. Platinum Stars F.C's Patrice Madiba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry Mangope in the 6th minute of play. Godfrey Vanker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th minute Henry Mangope shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrice Madiba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrice Madiba came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Roaring Lions's Michael Thebile. But to his dismay, Michael Thebile quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Bongi Mnisi kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Henry Mangope took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Patrice Madiba. Patrice Madiba dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 35th match minute, Roaring Lions was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nkosi Roberts to maneuver through the defense. Etienne Mabele kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 36thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Roaring Lions's keeper Harry Wanani was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. After 38 minutes Roaring Lions's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bongi Mnisi who took care of the corner kick. If Etienne Mabele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Roaring Lions defense, Godfrey Vanker kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Harry Wanani. The Roaring Lions fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Harry Wanani should have stopped the shot. Roaring Lions's Harry Wanani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Godfrey Vanker in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Godfrey Vanker made a kick off. Harry Wanani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Etienne Mabele, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patrice Madiba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henry Mangope in the 57th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Platinum Stars F.C's goalkeeper Patrice Madiba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michael Thebile. Etienne Mabele struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Harry Wanani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Platinum Stars F.C. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Henry Mangope managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roaring Lions's supporters rose to their feet, but Henry Mangope was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patrice Madiba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Henry Mangope had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harry Wanani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godfrey Vanker in the 80th minute of play. Michael Thebile could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Patrice Madiba made a huge save. Godfrey Vanker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
