Spectators: 37 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) FC Steelpoort's Mabusela Mhlathe started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Through an outstanding action, after 3 minutes, Lazarus Mothobi successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Freddie Mufumadi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lazarus Mothobi having to interfere. Sanjay Strauss's late challenge caught a King Von's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sanjay Strauss helped the player get up and apologised. After 6 played minutes FC Steelpoort got a freekick which was hit by Sanjay Strauss. Thomas Nhlapo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Lazarus Mothobi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 10th minute, Milton Vanker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th minute, Eric Kolwa sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and FC Steelpoort's Lazarus Mothobi didn't even have to move. 13 minutes into the game, Alpheus Mhlathe recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lazarus Mothobi. Alpheus Mhlathe showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Mabusela Mhlathe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mthunzi Mumede having to interfere. Thomas Nhlapo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Lazarus Mothobi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Freddie Mufumadi got free with Lazarus Mothobi in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd match minute, King Von was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornell Mokhasi to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Steelpoort's goalkeeper Lazarus Mothobi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 36th match minute, FC Steelpoort was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sanjay Strauss to maneuver through the defense. Freddie Mufumadi struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Lazarus Mothobi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for King Von. A collision led to FC Steelpoort getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Leon Shongwe hit a great ball. FC Steelpoort's Lazarus Mothobi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save FC Steelpoort from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thomas Nhlapo to strike the kick off in the second half. King Von's Cornell Mokhasi got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lazarus Mothobi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Nhlapo in the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Nhlapo in the 67th minute of play forced FC Steelpoort's goalkeeper Lazarus Mothobi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomas Nhlapo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eric Inguana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mthunzi Mumede having to interfere. Alpheus Mhlathe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to King Von getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Alpheus Mhlathe hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC Steelpoort's zone, Cornell Mokhasi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lazarus Mothobi came out of the goal and Cornell Mokhasi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. King Von had played much better football throughout.
