Poortjie's Dumisane King played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noxolo Sephiri in the 18th minute of play. Patrick Mokatimi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Sizwe Okpara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in FC Ajax's zone, Patrick Mokatimi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sizwe Okpara came out of the goal and Patrick Mokatimi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute Ebrahim Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sizwe Okpara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Noxolo Sephiri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Dumisane King tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Madolo Kekana couldn't finish the play. 61 minutes into the match, Poortjie's goal looked a bit too open when David Patel came free, but Dumisane King reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sizwe Okpara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ebrahim Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Patrick Mokatimi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sizwe Okpara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Poortjie's goalkeeper Dumisane King, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Patrick Mokatimi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sizwe Okpara having to interfere. After having played for 95 minutes, Patrick Mokatimi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
