Thanks to some nice moves Vuyani Madima could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Rob Setlaba however easily saved by the left post. In the 19th minute, Lucky Edwards got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Tomas Melele managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bengu's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Melele was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rob Setlaba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 28 minutes of play Matshira's Aubrey Josephs was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. If Harry Qabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeff Mhlathe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucky Edwards in the 40th minute of play. A collision led to Bengu getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Tomas Melele hit a great ball. If Harry Qabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucky Edwards recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Bengu players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Matshira were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Harry Qabi made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Bengu's goalkeeper Jeff Mhlathe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harry Qabi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucky Edwards in the 59th minute of play forced Bengu's goalkeeper Jeff Mhlathe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 67 minutes, Harry Qabi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matshira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harry Qabi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
