The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th match minute, Santos FC Cape Town was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brandon Modipa to maneuver through the defense. Santos FC Cape Town's Siyabonge Mabele was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aubrey Mncube in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 29th minute Sanjay Etafia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hlamane Mandela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Godfrey Miti got a throw-in 32 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Promise Bartlett. Hlamane Mandela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sanjay Etafia in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sanjay Etafia in the 36th minute of play forced Santos FC Cape Town's goalkeeper Hlamane Mandela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the game, Ismail Komani was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ramokabati's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santos FC Cape Town the free kick. Terence Mufadi kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. If Siyabonge Mabele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Ismail Komani left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ramokabati fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Rob Mandla made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 61 minutes, Rob Mandla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 93 minutes, Leslie Strauss mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santos FC Cape Town and the Ramokabati players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th minute of the match Godfrey Miti sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hlamane Mandela skillfully saved the ball. The Santos FC Cape Town players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Ramokabati from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
