After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Thabile Collins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sev7en Stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Thabile Collins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomas Dinha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dalibba's Tomas Dinha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jomo Etafia in the 5th minute of play. When Jomo Etafia came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Sev7en Stars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jomo Etafia couldn't finish the play. Tomas Dinha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thabile Collins, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Siyabonge Takalani kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Thabile Collins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Dinha having to interfere. Thabile Collins hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. When Dalibba's Siyabonge Takalani in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sev7en Stars's goalie prevented a goal. Mawetu Stoltz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Tomas Dinha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jomo Etafia in the 30th minute of play forced Dalibba's goalkeeper Tomas Dinha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the game, William Mandela was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sev7en Stars's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dalibba the free kick. After 34 played minutes Sev7en Stars got a freekick which was hit by William Mandela. When Mawetu Radebe came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Dalibba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mawetu Radebe couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 39 in the game by Mawetu Stoltz from a close distance when the talented Tomas Dinha managed to make a qualified save. Dalibba's players were relieved. Thabile Collins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Tomas Dinha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gordon Tembe's late challenge caught a Dalibba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gordon Tembe helped the player get up and apologised. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mawetu Stoltz to strike the kick off in the second half. Tomas Dinha came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Sev7en Stars's Thabile Collins. But to his dismay, Thabile Collins quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Boyisana Kerns took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tomas Dinha. Dalibba's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Siyabonge Takalani's late challenge caught a Sev7en Stars's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Siyabonge Takalani helped the player get up and apologised. After 57 played minutes Dalibba got a freekick which was hit by Siyabonge Takalani. 66 minutes into the match, Dalibba's goal looked a bit too open when Mawetu Stoltz came free, but Tomas Dinha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Sev7en Stars's goalkeeper Silas Radebe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Milton King. After a rather tough play, Dalibba's Edries Mayoyo got a free kick in the 72nd minute. During the 75th minute of the match Siyabonge Takalani completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Siyabonge Takalani a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Mawetu Stoltz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 83rd minute by Milton King got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 86 minutes into the game, Milton Makweni was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dalibba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sev7en Stars the free kick. The supporters of Sev7en Stars booed when Dalibba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milton Makweni didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boyisana Kerns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jomo Etafia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tomas Dinha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mawetu Stoltz in the 94th minute of play.
