The referee showed Musa Arendse the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Uluxa's Musa Arendse got a free kick in the 5th minute. Alfred Takalani came free with the goalkeeper in the 5th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sam Komani could save by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Uluxa's zone, Alfred Takalani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sam Komani came out of the goal and Alfred Takalani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Uluxa's Mabusela Makweni got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Thabo Mathibe came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Maluleke FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thabo Mathibe couldn't finish the play. Alfred Takalani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sam Komani having to interfere. Maluleke FC's Alfred Takalani got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Steve Mabalane's late challenge caught a Uluxa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Steve Mabalane helped the player get up and apologised. 22 minutes into the match, Maluleke FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mathibela King came free, but Meshack Tshabalala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Uluxa's goalkeeper Sam Komani had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfred Takalani. The supporters of Uluxa booed when Maluleke FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steve Liau didn't get a good kick on the ball. Meshack Tshabalala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mabusela Makweni in the 29th minute of the match. After having played for 31 minutes, Thabo Mathibe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maluleke FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thabo Mathibe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Meshack Tshabalala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathibela King, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 39th minute, Mathibela King ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Meshack Tshabalala was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Musa Arendse kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Mabusela Makweni's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Meshack Tshabalala was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfred Takalani in the 55th minute of play forced Uluxa's goalkeeper Sam Komani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Maluleke FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Steve Mabalane hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the match, Uluxa's Norman Tshabalala broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 60th minute, Nelson Tembe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Uluxa's Noxolo Inguana got a free kick in the 62nd minute. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Thabo Mathibe sped through Uluxa's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sam Komani. Alfred Takalani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 70 minutes, Mabusela Makweni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chants of Uluxa echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Maluleke FC had held the ball for most of the match.
