In the 38th minute Ladislav Paštrnák shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jozef Tóth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute, Ivan Bubán hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Habovka FC's zone, Ladislav Paštrnák stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jozef Tóth came out of the goal and Ladislav Paštrnák tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Jozef Tóth managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when Brestov's Ján Miženko fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ladislav Paštrnák fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jozef Tóth having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ladislav Paštrnák was the one to do the kick off. Jozef Tóth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ján Miženko in the 52nd minute of play. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Habovka FC's Ivan Bubán in the 61st minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Tibor Valach was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Brestov through an amazing save. Ivan Bubán's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tibor Valach read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Brestov's goalkeeper Tibor Valach had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laco Hurban. After 70 minutes, Ivan Dani mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brestov and the Habovka FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 71st match minute, Brestov was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Dani to maneuver through the defense. If Laco Hurban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the match, Brestov's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Bubán came free, but Tibor Valach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Brestov's Ladislav Paštrnák nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jozef Tóth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 95th minute, Laco Hurban left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Habovka FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
