An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Fedor in the 23rd minute of play forced Hronovce's goalkeeper Miroslav Sagan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Peter Fedor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 25 minutes into the match, Hronovce's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Fedor came free, but Miroslav Sagan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ladislav Koreň's late challenge caught a Hronovce's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ladislav Koreň helped the player get up and apologised. Daniel Dowling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Korach in the 45th minute of play. Daniel Dowling made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Peter Zmek sent off a good shot on target. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Peter Korach was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Peter Vavruš managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hronovce's supporters rose to their feet, but Peter Vavruš was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Dowling breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peter Fedor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Miroslav Sagan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Peter Vavruš ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Daniel Dowling was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Peter Korach hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. If Peter Vavruš had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miroslav Sagan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dušan Straka showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 81 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Tomáš Šuraba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniel Dowling was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Miroslav Sagan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Peter Fedor went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
