The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 5 minutes, Tibor Bagin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zombor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tibor Bagin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 9th minute Peter Húska shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matej Bohuš saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 12 played minutes Polichno FK got a freekick which was hit by Ján Hujsa. Matej Bohuš showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Húska in the 13th minute of the match. Peter Húska received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Matej Bohuš tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute Tibor Bagin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matej Bohuš saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Peter Húska in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matej Bohuš saved Polichno FK from getting behind. If Václav Bačovčin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Tibor Bagin came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Zombor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tibor Bagin couldn't finish the play. After 35 played minutes Polichno FK got a freekick which was hit by Krištof Sviatko. Tibor Bagin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zombor's Filip Hossa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Zombor from getting a goal against them. Stanislav Ňahaj took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Matej Bohuš. Polichno FK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Peter Húska was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Stanislav Karásek left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Polichno FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After a rather tough play, Polichno FK's Ján Hujsa got a free kick in the 61st minute. Polichno FK's Stanislav Karásek got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stanislav Karásek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Móric Báthory's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, Matej Bohuš skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.
