The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 9 minutes, Richard Slaný mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liverpool FC and the Cigla players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 9th match minute, Liverpool FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Slaný to maneuver through the defense. Erik Rašovský was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Blažej Tokár. Erik Rašovský showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matej Meluš, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Erik Rašovský successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jozef Syč received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Erik Puškár tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ľubomír Paštrnák to make the kick off. Stanislav Bukovinský fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Puškár having to interfere. Ľubomír Paštrnák who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Erik Puškár when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 55th minute, Ľubomír Paštrnák ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erik Puškár was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Matej Meluš sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 60 minutes into the match, Liverpool FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marek Pavlovič came free, but Erik Rašovský reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erik Rašovský took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matej Meluš, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ľubomír Paštrnáks short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Erik Puškár to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Liverpool FC booed when Cigla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blažej Tokár didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Pavol Trebuňa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Cigla's Aurel Rendľa got a free kick in the 78th minute. The audience was convinced that Ľubomír Paštrnák's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erik Puškár was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Liverpool FC's Róbert Gallo got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Cigla's Erik Puškár got control of the ball when Ľubomír Paštrnák tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 91st minute of the match Martin Smrečko sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erik Puškár skillfully saved the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Marek Pavlovič had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Erik Rašovský. Liverpool FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marek Pavlovič was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. When the match was over Liverpool FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cigla throughout the match.
