The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bronislav Korbar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Alt, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 14th minute, one of Trebnje FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Trebnje FC. Trebnje FC's Bronislav Korbar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erli Pregrad in the 18th minute of play. After having played for 19 minutes, Danilo Alt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kobilje's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danilo Alt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Danilo Alt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Danjel Vasle received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nedeljko Košnik came out and tried to block the shot, but Danjel Vasle slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 28th minute. Erli Pregrad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Danilo Alt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bronislav Korbar having to interfere. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Trebnje FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rasim Modic was slow to take the kick. During this time Kobilje's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Kobilje's Rasim Modic to fire away a dangerous shot which Bronislav Korbar despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Trebnje FC's goal looked a bit too open when Erli Pregrad came free, but Bronislav Korbar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kobilje's Nedeljko Košnik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danjel Vasle in the 43rd minute of play. Erli Pregrad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Danjel Vasle was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Trebnje FC's zone, Erli Pregrad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bronislav Korbar came out of the goal and Erli Pregrad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Trebnje FC's Bronislav Korbar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danilo Alt in the 59th minute of play. Danilo Alt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bronislav Korbar having to interfere. A collision led to Trebnje FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Emil Kostevšek hit a great ball. Adormi Štinjek struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Nedeljko Košnik didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trebnje FC. Danjel Vasle might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nedeljko Košnik. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Danjel Vasle ran back to his position shaking his head. Adormi Štinjek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Nedeljko Košnik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Kobilje's zone, Danjel Vasle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nedeljko Košnik came out of the goal and Danjel Vasle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Kobilje players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Trebnje FC.
