Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Job Rudolf started the match with the kick off. After 7 minutes of play, FC Ciba's Amon Čulk made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ognjeslav Koenig was left in no man's land by his defense there! Job Rudolf blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erol Anžlovar having to make a save. 16 minutes into the game, Job Rudolf cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Erol Anžlovar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ljutomer MNK's Brin Perić got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brin Perić in the 21st minute of play forced FC Ciba's goalkeeper Erol Anžlovar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amon Čulk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Ognjeslav Koenig made a huge save. In the 24th minute, Amon Čulk ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ognjeslav Koenig was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Ronald Kavčič fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erol Anžlovar having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Ronald Kavčič got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adis Bedenik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Erol Anžlovar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Brin Perić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erol Anžlovar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Žolt Hadžić stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Ljutomer MNK booed when FC Ciba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Žolt Hadžić didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronald Kavčič struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Erol Anžlovar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ljutomer MNK. After a rather tough play, FC Ciba's Amon Čulk got a free kick in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olivij Koletič in the 65th minute of play forced Ljutomer MNK's goalkeeper Ognjeslav Koenig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Etien Rangus in the 67th minute of play forced Ljutomer MNK's goalkeeper Ognjeslav Koenig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FC Ciba getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Žolt Hadžić hit a great ball. In the 71st match minute, Ljutomer MNK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brin Perić to maneuver through the defense. In the 72nd minute Žolt Hadžić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ognjeslav Koenig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronald Kavčič recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Etien Rangus hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After having played for 79 minutes, Ronald Kavčič managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ljutomer MNK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronald Kavčič was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Ciba's goalkeeper Erol Anžlovar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Božidar Trampuš in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erol Anžlovar saved FC Ciba from getting behind. Job Rudolf who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 85thth minute tested the skills of Erol Anžlovar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Job Rudolf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erol Anžlovar having to interfere. Ognjeslav Koenig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olivij Koletič in the 96th minute of the match. The FC Ciba support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
