Ognjeslav Švarc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adem Pregrad having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Prevalje FC's Darko Vihernik sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adem Pregrad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lorenco Grušovnik made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alain Brašanac in the 24th minute. Julijo Klinc was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 29 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sežana FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! 34 minutes into the match, Sežana FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ognjeslav Švarc came free, but Adem Pregrad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kostja Birk shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Adem Pregrad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ognjeslav Švarc in the 43rd minute of play. Adem Pregrad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ognjeslav Švarc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th match minute, Prevalje FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kostja Birk to maneuver through the defense. After 50 played minutes Sežana FC got a freekick which was hit by Pavel Ljubeljšek. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Alain Brašanac made the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute of the match Vojko Bernard shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adem Pregrad showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marco Bastarda during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ognjeslav Švarc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Adem Pregrad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adem Pregrad was a little too slow when Ognjeslav Švarc got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 0-1. 73 minutes into the match, Sežana FC's goalkeeper Adem Pregrad had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Darko Vihernik. If Ognjeslav Švarc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the game, Kras Rahimić was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sežana FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Prevalje FC the free kick. Kras Rahimić hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Prevalje FC's Ognjeslav Švarc got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 97 minutes into the match, Sežana FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ognjeslav Švarc came free, but Adem Pregrad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 98th minute, one of Sežana FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sežana FC. The Sežana FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Prevalje FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Prevalje FC.
