In the 7th minute Milorad Kajdiž shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herbert Podakar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 11 minutes, Darko Jaušovec mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ribnica NK and the NK Mostje players grew even worse after the yellow card. 16 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when NK Mostje's Zeni Đogić fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Patrik Miklavc hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Chris Pere took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Armand Škrlec. Ribnica NK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Milorad Kajdiž got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zeni Đogić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armand Škrlec having to interfere. If Waldemar Mešič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Milorad Kajdiž sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Milorad Kajdiž recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Milorad Kajdiž in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Herbert Podakar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Darko Jaušovec to strike the kick off in the second half. Waldemar Mešič received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Armand Škrlec tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zeni Đogić in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armand Škrlec prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 67th minute Darko Jaušovec shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herbert Podakar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Darko Jaušovec came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Ribnica NK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darko Jaušovec couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Ribnica NK's zone, Waldemar Mešič stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armand Škrlec came out of the goal and Waldemar Mešič tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 82 played minutes Ribnica NK got a freekick which was hit by Besir Cafuta. After having played for 92 minutes, Waldemar Mešič managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NK Mostje's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldemar Mešič was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Ribnica NK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ribnica NK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
