Adam Skok showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikola Kogoj in the 10th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eugen Plesničar in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adam Skok saved Zagorje ob Savi from getting behind. Stane Ljubec recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Helmut Hegler's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Rade Bombek firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ira Dvornik kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 27th minute Eugen Plesničar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Skok saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Ljubljana's Rade Bombek got control of the ball when Helmut Hegler tried to sneak it across the goal line. Stane Ljubec sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36thth minute of the game Stane Ljubec who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ljubljana's Rade Bombek was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Adam Skok took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugen Plesničar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Stane Ljubec's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rade Bombek was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Stane Ljubec put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Rade Bombek.

The supporters of Zagorje ob Savi booed when Ljubljana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Svetomir Zupanc didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Zagorje ob Savi's goalkeeper Adam Skok, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 81st minute, Bruno Uranc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stane Ljubec scored 2-2 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rade Bombek, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
