In the 12thth minute of the game Rosando Cener who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portorož MNK's Jožef Rigač was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lari Junuzović took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rasim Emeršič, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rasim Emeršič sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 22 played minutes NK Brinje got a freekick which was hit by Michael Narobe. After a rather tough play, NK Brinje's Michael Narobe got a free kick in the 25th minute. Rasim Emeršič received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Lari Junuzović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Juraj Lampensberger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Rasim Emeršič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the game, Portorož MNK's Theodor Smrtnik nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lari Junuzović made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rosando Cener made a kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Portorož MNK's goalkeeper Jožef Rigač, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tony Šestić kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. 56 minutes into the match, NK Brinje's goal looked a bit too open when Theodor Smrtnik came free, but Lari Junuzović reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Dennis Mlinarič fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Portorož MNK's protests and gave Dennis Mlinarič a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of NK Brinje booed when Portorož MNK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennis Mlinarič didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to NK Brinje getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Bore Prusnik hit a great ball. The supporters of Portorož MNK booed when NK Brinje was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juraj Lampensberger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lari Junuzović made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Rasim Emeršič sent off a good shot on target. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by NK Brinje's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ardenko Dermastja was slow to take the kick. During this time Portorož MNK's players had a chance to rest. With a little luck, NK Brinje's Lari Junuzović got control of the ball when Rasim Emeršič tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 94 minutes, Mauricij Lenard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NK Brinje's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauricij Lenard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rosando Cener in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jožef Rigač prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Rosando Cener's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jožef Rigač was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. When the final whistle sounded Portorož MNK left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than NK Brinje.
