Pero Ahlin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lambert Ponikvar, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. When Ognjeslav Pengal fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Preddvor's protests and gave Ognjeslav Pengal a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Preddvor's Ognjeslav Pengal got a free kick in the 20th minute. When Lambert Ponikvar came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the New Greenhorns fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lambert Ponikvar couldn't finish the play. If Bane Zupet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lorči Vogrinčič fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hektor Venek having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Lorči Vogrinčič ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hektor Venek was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Slavko Krašnja hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Lorči Vogrinčič sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bane Zupet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lorči Vogrinčič stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Lambert Ponikvar came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the New Greenhorns fans jumped to their feet. After having played for 59 minutes, Lorči Vogrinčič managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Preddvor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lorči Vogrinčič was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in New Greenhorns's zone, Bane Zupet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hektor Venek came out of the goal and Bane Zupet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. New Greenhorns's Hektor Venek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save New Greenhorns from getting a goal against them. Bane Zupet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Hektor Venek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
